Congrats for resounding success of Beer Day Britain

Instigated and project managed by beer sommelier, alcohol historian, author and School of Booze founder Jane Peyton, Britain celebrated its national alcoholic drink.

The official #CheersBDB hashtag was seen trending on twitter, and the BBPA along with its members showed support for the event, tweeting team pictures, holding Beer Day Britain based promotions and some even creating special, limited edition beers to celebrate the day.

BBPA Chief Executive Brigid Simmonds comments:

“I would like to congratulate Jane for the success of Beer Day Britain and thank her for her hard work and dedication, which made this celebration of Great British beer possible.

“It is hard to believe that there has not been a national beer day before, as beer and pubs are so important in the UK, contributing £22 billion annually to Britain’s GDP.

“I look forward to Beer Day Britain 2016!”
