Budget 2016 – email your MP about huge positive impact of beer and pubs

In the campaign to secure a fourth, historic cut in beer duty, the BBPA is urging supporters to email their local MP asking them to back the campaign, and support Early Day Motion 919 in Parliament.

The BBPA’s website, www.beerandpubjobs.co.uk, provides an ‘email your MP’ tool, where just by inputting their postcode, supporters can send a message to their local representative calling for a duty cut. The BBPA says that strong consumer support has always had a big impact on the campaign.

The website also provides a huge range of unique local data where campaigners can easily access figures on the positive impact of beer and pubs on jobs and the local economy in their own area. Whether it is parliamentary constituencies, local council areas, or Britain’s nations and regions, there is a wealth of data available.

Brigid Simmonds, BBPA Chief Executive, comments:

“With our email tool, joining the campaign for a fourth cut in beer duty only takes a few seconds. I hope as many people as possible visit the website and send a message to their MP. There is also a huge amount of local information available that clearly shows how important beer and pubs are to our economy, in every part of Britain.”
