Emerging Companies & Supply Chain

Our Emerging Company membership is for smaller companies within the brewing and pub industry who produce less than 3,000 barrels (5,000 hl) per annum or who own less than 30 pubs.
The BBPA has a range of valued associate members, who are connected to the sector but do not require the benefits of full membership. Associate members fall into two categories, Supply Chain partner and Commercial partner. This is because our associate members require different relationships with the BBPA and we look to ensure that each associate member receives a tailored package of benefits.

Benefits of Membership

Small Pub Companies

The BBPA offer unrivalled support for associate Small Pub Companies on a number of pub-related issues. This ranges from guidance on employment issues such as national minimum wage, work experience, apprenticeships and recruitment, to assistance with business rates relief and lobbying action for change. In addition, we offer full access to responsibility materials, as well as advice on unfair local authority/police enforcement.

Small Brewer Companies

Small Brewer Companies can receive outstanding expert advice on current and forthcoming legislation which will affect their business. BBPA offers guidance on UK labelling compliance as well as access to expertise on technical issues such as beer quality and safety. Additionally, brewing companies will receive support with export activity through the BBPA country profiles, export events and networking opportunities with leading beer exporters.

Supply Chain Partners

Our Supply Chain Partners are those organisations that have a more direct and demonstrable working relationship with brewing or pub companies throughout the supply chain. They can benefit from active involvement in the work of the BBPA, for example representation at relevant technical panels, as well as greater opportunities for networking and contact with full members.

Commercial Partners

Our Commercial Partners are normally stakeholders with a strong interest in the beer and pub sector but whom will have a less direct working relationship with brewers or pubs, and therefore will not require the full range of Supply Chain Partner benefits. The principle benefits of Commercial Partner membership would be discounted rates to attend BBPA events and opportunities to raise awareness of products or services to other members via the BBPA website or communications.

Our CEO Richard Bradley became the Co-Owner of The Green Man Pub, Scamblesby, Lincolnshire December 2019, but before he took on the challenges of the hospitality trade, he founded his Debit and Credit Cards brokerage acceptcards® in 2005 which makes us uniquely placed to support the members of the BBPA.

Being an independent and privately owned business, we are not tied to any payment’s provider, enabling us to be truly objective in the solutions we recommend and arrange. So, whether you are a traditional small drinking pub, a gastropub, a larger group of pubs with accommodation or something in between like The Green Man, our independence enables us to find the best deal on the market for your business.

In light of government advice on social distancing along with the public’s increased desire to pay by card with Contactless technology we can advise the best practice on this and all areas of card acceptance, be that Chip & Pin, EPOS, Pre-Ordering, Click & Collect and E-commerce in an easy to understand way.
