Emma McClarkin, CEO of the British Beer and Pub Association said: "We welcome the plans brought forward by the Government to accelerate the provision of clean, green energy through investment in infrastructure to make it easier for providers of clean and renewable energy to connect to the grid. 

"However, to enable the beer and pub sector to flourish, it is vital that this step leads to greater choice for businesses. Importantly for those keen to transition to more renewable energy sources but who struggle through lack of choice and higher cost versus standard energy. 

"We urge Government not to forget businesses looking to take the next step in their decarbonisation journey. The Government must ensure that they support the ability of businesses looking to upgrade their grid connection to transition away from fossil fuel energy."
